Good afternoon, Fredstrom families!

We had a great first day full of learning and fun!

I want to thank each of you for playing a part in our success. Changes to daily routines are never easy, especially during the morning rush, but your cooperation, patience, and support during arrival and dismissal have made a world of difference.

This morning, the vehicles were moving efficiently through the drop-off zone, which significantly reduced street congestion and provided a safe walk to school for our students. Just a couple of reminders as we prepare for dismissal and arrival this school year.

ARRIVAL

  • The loop in front of the school and the parking lot are only for Family Service Before School Care and Breakfast drop off. Families should NOT enter the loop or parking lot unless they are dropping students for these services.

  • All other students will be dropped off on Northwest 10th Street and enter through Door 17.

  • As you are approaching school, we recommend using Northwest 4th Street that turns into West Harvest Drive to approach Fredstrom from the south heading north on Northwest 10th Street. This will keep traffic flowing in one direction as much as possible, relieving congestion.

  • Follow staff instructions on Northwest 10th Street and wait until you get to the green cones to have your student exit the vehicle on the curb side.

  • As you leave the drop off line, please do not cut through the loop or parking lot. Continue traffic flowing to West Custer Street and exit towards Northwest 12th Street. This will help limit congestion on Northwest Gary Street and West Burt Street in the neighborhood.

  • If you need to exit your vehicle with your student, we ask that you park in the neighborhood and walk with your student to Door 17.

I know it will take a little longer in the mornings as we learn this new process, but with everyone following this plan traffic will move more efficiently and safely.

DISMISSAL

  • Dismissal runs the same as last year.  Students will exit through their grade level doors and be directed to follow the sidewalk on either side of the building. However, for safety purposes, students will NOT be allowed to cross the playground and go down the grass hill towards West Harvest Drive.

  • As you are approaching school, we recommend using Northwest 4th Street that turns into West Harvest Drive to approach Fredstrom from the south heading north on Northwest 10th Street. This will keep traffic flowing in one direction as much as possible, relieving congestion. You can park along Northwest 10th Street and West Harvest Drive.

  • As you leave the drop off line, please do not cut through the loop or parking lot. Continue traffic flowing to West Custer Street and exit towards Northwest 12th Street. This will help limit congestion on Northwest Gary Street and West Burt Street in the neighborhood. This will also help our walkers as they cross West Burt Drive towards Fletcher.

  • Please do not park in the loop or the parking lot. This is for families who utilize Family Service after school to pick up their student.

Thank you again for your continued partnership in ensuring a safe school environment for all!

Don’t miss out on important back-to-school information! Please take the important steps below to ensure your family’s information is up-to-date.

Every year families are required to complete the enrollment verification process. This includes updating contact information and signing consent and release forms. Please do this as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on important information. The deadline is before the first day of school.

Verify your child’s records:

  1. Starting today, families can log on to ParentVUE, and click on the Online Registration button in the top right corner.

  2. Verify the current address, phone number and email information provided. (This is how your school will contact you about emergencies and send important updates.)

  3. Follow the prompts on the screen and answer each question or verify information already provided as thoroughly as possible.

If you have questions or need help with completing these steps, please contact your child’s school.

If you have previously used your ParentVUE account, but can’t remember your password, you can reset it online at https://synergyvue.lps.org/. If you have not yet activated your LPS ParentVUE account, please contact the main office of your child’s school for instructions and an activation key.

Thank you for your help!

REMINDER: School physicals

It is time to schedule your students’ school physical for next school year! All students benefit from an annual wellness exam.

Families of kindergarten and seventh grade students for the 2026-2027 school year need to provide evidence of a physical examination completed by a physician, physician assistant, or an advanced practice registered nurse to the school your child attends – or will attend. There are required immunizations needed for school that are given to kindergarteners and seventh grade students during their school physical.

All students must be current with all school required immunizations and provide proof to the school. There are many resources available and the school nurse can assist you if you have questions.
