Mrs. Nifelhelm

My name is Libby Nifelhelm and I am in my fifth year of teaching. I started teaching fourth and fifth grade combined here at Fredstrom for two years. Then I taught fourth and first grade for one year; however, they were not combined, I taught first grade in the morning and fourth grade in the afternoon. The following year I went to teaching first grade full time.

In the summer of 2005, Mikael my husband, got a wild hare to move to Chicago so we were in the windy city for a year until another crazy thought ran through his mind to move to Sweden, to his home town Malmo. For about a year we lived in Sweden where we lived a stone’s throw to his mom, dad, sister’s family, and grandmother. There I began to refine my Swedish and was in class for roughly four hours each day. I consider myself to be at a conversational level of speaking.

Between our adventures, I managed to earn my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College, Lincoln. Since graduation I had the honor to work with Talent Plus and return to fourth grade here at Fredstrom.

Now that we have “settled” I enjoy spending time with our pets, Panda the cat whose nickname is Kitty and Neo the dog who likes to think he is a cat. Additionally, I am a runner and enjoy participating in the Lincoln Marathon. Drew is my only nephew who will turn 2 in January. He is always on the go, finding more dangerous things to explore.

One of my all time favorite books would have to be The Watson’s Go to Birmingham, while my favorite author is Judy Blume.

Mrs. Rung

My name is Judy Rung and I have taught 21 and 1/2 years in grades 3-6.
My husband, Bob, and I met while we were both teaching at Hawthorne Elementary School. Bob is a Physical Education and Health teacher. We have three children who are all married. Our oldest has two girls.

My favorite authors are Gary Paulsen who wrote Hatchet and Will Hobbs who wroter Bearstone. But, I love all their books. I also enjoy Willa Cather books.

Mrs. Buethe

My name is Melody Buethe and this is my third year of teaching. After graduating from UNL I was a Daycare Director for one semester at Messiah Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

My husband Ben and I have been married for three years. We enjoy watching movies together and playing tennis. Although I tend to get a little competitive.

My favorite authors are Gary Paulsen and Jan Brett. One of my favorite stories is Little Women.

Ms. Bredwell

My name is Cydney Bredwell and this is my second year of teaching. I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in December of 2005. I substitue taught for one semester.

I grew up by Beatrice & Plymouth, Nebraska. I attended a K-12 school located just outside of DeWitt, Nebraska. I have loving parents and one older sister.

My favorite author would have to be Roald Dahl. I love all of his work.
