Kindergarten Math Objectives

  • Read & write numbers/count sets (to 20 and beyond).
  • Sort by color, shape or size. (2 out of the 3)
  • Create and ABC pattern. OOOOOOOOO
  • Has 1:1 correspondence/understands more, fewer and same.
  • Use a ten frame to describe numbers to 20.
  • Counts by tens to 100.
  • Identify plane shapes.(circle, square, triangle, rectangle)
  • Identify penny, nickel and dime; knows their value.
  • Tell time to the hour.
  • Measure length with non-standard units.
  • Interprets a graph.(answer most, fewest and same questions)
  • Understands concept of addition and subtraction. Can solve simple problems.

Objectives in black will be covered during first semester. Those in pink will be taught second semester. Any practice you can provide at home with number recognition and writing would greatly benefit your Kindergartner.
