*We hope everyone had a happy holiday season and wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!
*The PTA hosted a Family Science Night at the Lincoln Children's Museum. Thanks to all of the families that attended.
*The PTA served the staff brunch in December to wish them a happy holiday.
*The next All School Skate will be held February 28th 6:00-8:00pm
*A sincere thank you to all of our volunteers that helped with the Holiday Gift Shop/Holiday Craft Night.
*It has been decided that the PTA will not be holding it's annual Fun Fair in February due to the lack of volunteers for this event.
*The PTA continues to sell POGO Cards and SCRIP as ongoing fundraisers for Fredstrom. For more information please check the fundraising page on the website or contact the PTA.
*The PTA will hold a Dine-Out Night at Cici's Pizza February 26th 4:00-10:00pm. Mention Fredstrom when you place your order and CiCi's will donate 10% of the sales to Fredstrom!!!

PTA News-Spring 2007

*PTA will be holding 1-2 fundraising nights at area restaurants, yet this year. Watch for details.
*PTA provided Valentineís Day treats to students and staff and to the staff on Teacher Appreciation Day.
*In February, PTA sent students to the Lied Center performances, Jungle Book and Willy Wonka
*PTA provided dinner to the staff during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
*PTA held our annual Fun Fair in February and once again, would like to thank all of the many volunteers that made the night possible.
* PTA has formed a Long-Range Planning Committee that is meeting to brainstorm ideas for future spending of funds, set priorities and gather pricing information and other details.
*PTA helped sponsor the Bike Rodeo. A big thank you to all of the volunteers that helped.
*PTA will provide funding for the upcoming 3^rd grade trip to Camp Kitaki and the 5^th grade golf outing.
*Thank you for your continued support of the Box Tops for Education effort. Please keep clipping!!! Remember--you no longer need to write your student's name on each box top--just include their name on each bag or envelope containing 25 box tops.
*The PTA is looking for volunteers interested in helping with spring clean-up, etc of the Butterfly Garden. If you are interested please contact the school office or PTA.

*We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and wish you all of the best in the New Year!
*Thank you again to all of the volunteers that made this year's Holiday Craft Night and Holiday Gift Shop a success! Thank you also to the families that participated-we hope the events helped kick off your holiday season in a fun/festive way.
*PTA helped provide items for the Holiday Food Baskets donated by Fredstrom to families in need.
*PTA donated $1000 to the Arnold PTO to help them re-build the funds that were stolen from them.

*PTA wishes everyone a Happy and Safe Halloween and enjoyable Fall Break!
*PTA sponsored an Ice Cream Social at the Family Sing held at Fredstrom in September and helped fund a portion of the cost of song books for participating families.

*The PTA sponsored the Pumpkin Walk and would like to thank the volunteers that helped out and all of the families that came to join in the fun of family fitness.

*The PTA sets up several Family Skate Nights throughout the school year at Skate Zone. During the first semester Skate Nights will be held-Oct 24th (K-2), Nov 16th (3rd-5th) and Nov 30th (all school)
*The PTA is offering for sale, Fredstrom shirts-- new colors, designs and styles. These make great holiday gifts!!! Remember POGO cards are also available for purchase throughout the school year.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and that the New Year is off to a good start for everyone.
A vote was held and the proposed spending plan passed unanimously. PTA is currently working to provide the items off of the ìteacher wish listsî and listed in the spending plan to classrooms.

PTA funded the Lion Dancers at the Beads on One String multi-cultural event.
PTA will fund a Primary Focus Programócharacter counts themed based skits w/ music performances for students on February 14^th.

On December 8^th, PTA will hold our annual Holiday Gift Shop (3:00-7:00pm), Holiday Craft Night (6:00-8:00pm) and our first Fredstrom Friends and Family Marketplace (4:00-8:00pm).

*Thanks to everyone that contributed in any way with the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fundraiser and Project Backpack. We are very proud of the way we all pull together to help others and the extreme generosity of the Fredstrom family.
*PTA provided treats and flowers for the staff to welcome them back on the first day of a new school year.
*PTA provided refreshments for Kindergarten parents on the first day of school as they watched the first few minutes of their student's day.
*PTA will be sponsoring two concerts to be performed for students, by Dennis Warner, author of Beads on a String on November 17th.

*Thanks to everyone for all of your support with the Sally Foster Fundraiser. This fundraiser allows the PTA to do everything it possibly can for the entire Fredstrom family.

*Fredstrom T-shirts and sweatshirts are still available. They make great holiday gifts!

*The Sally Fundraiser went great!!! Thanks for all of your support with this very important fundraiser. The ìexpectedî product distribution date is November 11^th. Watch for details.
*PTA will provide a ballot box at the Book Fair, November 8-11^th. We encourage all members to vote regarding a motion made at our October 19^th meeting, that a portion of the PTA general savings be used to purchase a portable sound system for Fredstrom.
*Our next meeting will be held Tuesday, November 16^th at 7:00pm in the Fredstrom Media Center. Please plan to join us. We hope to see you there.

*Welcome and Welcome Back!!! We hope everyoneís year is off to a wonderful start.
*The PTA held its first meeting of the year, September 21^st. Weíd like to thank everyone who attended. It was nice to see new faces and so many returning faces as well. Everyone is always welcome and encouraged to attend.
* We are still in need of a co-president and chairpersons for the T-shirt Sales and Scholastic Book Fair committees. If you are interested, please contact the PTA President, Jennifer Delka.
*Thank you all for your support and help with the Sally Foster fundraiser. It is much appreciated!!! Order forms and money are due today, Wednesday Sept 22^nd .
*PTA will be organizing and doing paperwork for the individual school photos that will be taken Sept. 29^th.
     *provided desserts to welcome the staff back on the first day of school.
     *will provide dinner for the staff on the upcoming parent/ teacher conference night.
     *will sponsor Pumpkin Walk on October 12^th. This is a fun family night we hope you all will enjoy.

*PTA will provide "graduation" treats to the 5th grade class and gave each student a class picture.
*Since enrolling in the Box Tops for Education program, Fredstrom has earned a total of $2,508.65. THANKS to all that have contributed!!!
Please keep clipping throughout the summer and turn in your box tops when school resumes.
*PTA has provided special treats to classes during some of the field trips taken this year.
*PTA will provide a treat to all students on the last day of school.

*PTA will hold a Spaghetti Feed on April 30^th (the night before the Mayorís Run). Weíd love to see
        you there. Please help us plan by making your reservation.

*PTA provided a special luncheon for the staff on Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day and displayed signs on the school grounds to let the entire staff know how much they are appreciated.
*PTA provided dinner for the staff on Tuesday, March 16^th, during parent/teacher conferences.
*PTA will make a donation to the LPS Foundation-Community Learning Centers fund in honor of Superintendent, Dr. Philip Schooís retirement.
*The Box Top count for the contest ending on March 10^th was 12,600!---bringing our year to date total to 24,000!!! Thank you so much for your participation. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents to Fredstrom! Keep collecting collecting.
*Class pictures will be taken on March 31^st. The PTA will provide class pictures to the 5^th grade class as they finish their time at Fredstrom.
*Fredstrom Fun Fair will be held on Friday, April 16^th. Fun for the entire family!

*PTA provided holiday snack cakes and candy canes for the students before the holiday break.
*PTA provided the Holiday Gift Shop as a service to Fredstrom students and their families. We hope that everyone enjoyed the ìsurpriseî holiday gifts that their students selected.
*PTA held the Holiday Craft Night where many Fredstrom families enjoyed making holiday crafts together.
*PTA will be collecting Box Tops with a new collection contest beginning now and running until March 4^th. Individual as well as class prize incentives will be offered. Keep collecting! J
*Fredstrom t-shirts will again be on sale at the Fun Fair on April 16^th. If you would like to purchase any sooner please contact Tammy Doak..
*Class pictures will be taken on March 31^st.
*Explore Classes will again be offered during the 2^nd semester. They will begin February 11^th. Watch your Wednesday folders for more information.
*We would like to encourage parents to come listen to guest speaker, Julie Kozicek on January 27^th at Fredstrom. She will be speaking about the importance of writing and how we can help our children and encourage their writing skills. She will speak to parents of K-2^nd graders from 6:30-7:15pm and to parents of 3^rd-5^th graders from 7:30-8:15pm. Mark your calendars. Hope to see you there.

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!
*The PTA distributed Halloween treat bags to students before fall break and will also provide a snack before the holiday break.
* Some Fredstrom t-shirts and sweatshirts will be donated by the PTA and placed in holiday baskets along with food items collected in conjunction with the Fredstrom Food Drive that will take place December 2nd-12th .
*PTA will be selling Fredstrom shirts at the Holiday Gift Night on December 4th if you havenít gotten yours or need gift ideas.
*Thank you for your support through purchases made during the Scholastic Book Fair! Fredstrom students will benefit greatly from the $1,245 in cash and $1,245 in books earned for the media center.
*Picture retakes were taken on November 12th and will be back in approximately 3-4 weeks.
*Class pictures will be taken on March 31st.
*Holiday Craft Night will be December 4th from 6-8pm.
*Holiday Gift Night will be December 4th from 3-7:00pm.
*Mark your calendars now for the FUN FAIR coming on Friday, April 16th.

*The PTA served dinner to the staff while they worked late on October 21st doing parent-teacher conferences.
*A 20th Anniversary Celebration for Fredstrom will be held on November 20th-watch for details.
*The proposed PTA budget for the current year was voted on at the Pumpkin Walk and passed.
*We currently have 289 members. Directories and membership cards have been distributed. If you didn't receive yours or you would still like to join PTA, please contact Sally Moon.
